Senior Spotlight: Shamar Simpson '25

Senior Spotlight: Shamar Simpson '25

“The clock was winding down. I pictured this shot a hundred times in my room, in the shower, during practice... I knew I had to take the shot because ‘you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,’” said Shamar.

Family is everything to Shamar. He is the youngest of five, and he enjoys spending his free time doing arts and crafts with his nieces and nephews. They often build Lego creations together which has turned into his own personal hobby!

“My oldest brother Jack is my biggest inspiration. Although we’re 20 years apart, we kind of live the same life and we think a lot alike. He’s my biggest motivator,” said Shamar. “But my Aunt Morgan is the MVP of my life. She does all the small things, and she’s always very encouraging. She’s there when I need her, and when she talks, I listen for sure.”

Shamar is grateful for his TNA journey and looks forward to his next chapter at La Roche, where he plans to study finance and continue playing basketball.

“Attending TNA has been one of the best decisions of my life. I’m just so grateful to everybody who’s been there for me and helped me get to this point. And now I’m ready to continue my education in a bigger fashion.”

Looking ahead, Shamar hopes to stay in Pittsburgh, pursue commercial real estate, and perhaps launch a nonprofit organization.

“I’m most passionate about giving back to the community.I plan on putting myself in the position ‘to have.’  I want to give back to the community just as it has given to me.”
