Our Mission:
The Neighborhood Academy is a faith-based, college preparatory, independent school whose mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty by empowering youth and preparing them for college and citizenship.
Our mission statement guides an organizational-wide effort to ensure that through holistic education, our students will be prepared for success in every facet of life. It is our belief that all students should have access to a high-quality education no matter a student’s background or socio-economic status.
Our Vision:
TNA exists to provide a holistic college-prep education for students in grades 6-12 whose families who demonstrate financial need. TNA is dedicated to developing the mind, body, and spirit of our students so that they might become fully productive members of our society. By doing so, our students will break the cycle of generational poverty that has held them captive and deprived society of the full value of their lives.
Our Philosophy:
Our philosophy is that we are a non-sectarian community that celebrates worship, provides guidance in holistic development, and emphasizes moral reflection and service to others. TNA commits to a philosophy that includes civility, disciplined academic work in the humanities, mathematics, the sciences, athletic competition, and artistic expression.
Finally, TNA covenants with students and their families for the holistic development of each student.
